Enter Our Publishing Contest
Every year, students in the 3rd-12th grades submit short stories, poetry, and artwork to iWRITE’s publishing contest. Librarians select 100 students for publication in an annual anthology called, I Write Short Stories by Kids for Kids. Best of all, newly published authors are celebrated at the annual book signing in Houston, Texas.
This is a great opportunity for you to see your work available at bookstores and online at Amazon.com and Barnes&Noble.com. Being published is also great for future resumes and college applications!

Join the Youth Club
The iWRITE Youth Club gives you a chance to network with other students who love writing just as much as you do! It also gives you opportunities to develop your leadership and speaking skills as you work to support the iWRITE mission of literacy.
Every month, Greater Houston Area students in grades 6-12 meet to share their work and collaborate on new projects.

I WRITER is a magazine written, designed, and published by kids for kids.
The 16-page quarterly magazine focuses on themes that interest young people just like you. Each of our columnists (12 to 18 years old) write personal and informational articles, fiction, non-fiction stories, and poetry dedicated to each issue’s topic and theme.
The first digital magazine was released in April 2020, and focused on the COVID-19 coronavirus, which has changed every student’s life. This issue is fully focused on the global epidemic from your generation’s perspective.
The I WRITER magazine gives you a voice and an opportunity to share your feelings and perspective with others.
Students from all over the world are invited to apply to join the magazine staff or become a contributor. Meetings are held virtually.
