I WRITE because writing is a way for me to express myself, and it helps me connect to my artistic side. I enjoy writing because it allows me to reflect on experiences that I have encountered. Writing is something that I truly enjoy, and it has always been one of my greatest passions.

iWRITER Magazine
The iWRITE is a magazine written, designed, and published by kids for kids. iWRITER Magazine gives young people an opportunity to share their feelings and perspectives with others. The 16-page quarterly magazine focuses on themes that interest young people. Each columnist (10-18 years old) writes personal and informational articles, fiction, non-fiction, and poetry dedicated to each issue’s topic and theme. The first digital magazine was released in May 2020 and focused on the COVID-19 pandemic, which changed every student’s life.
Students from all over the world are invited to apply to write for the iWRITER. Meetings are held virtually. Contact Shaivi at shaivi.moparthi@kinkaid.org to learn more.
Issue 17 is about the one gift that has been with us all along, Time. And with a great gift in hand comes a great opportunity to make the best of it during the summer. Filled with captivating articles, poetry, and recommendations, time will definitely fly as you read this issue.

Lights Out Lit!
Lights Out Lit is a story read-aloud series created in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic by the iWRITE Youth. The series was produced, directed, and edited by former President, Katie Giveon.
The Club read various picture books (aimed at ages 3-6) and posted the videos to their YouTube page. You can watch the full playlist here.
