How to Apply
iWRITE Non-Profit Organization awards grants to Title 1 Elementary schools for our “i” The Guy Creative Writing Program. This program is targeted to 3rd–5th grade students.
Schools may apply for funding for the program through our grant application process. The number of schools that receive the program is based the amount of annual donations and corporate sponsorships each season and is not guaranteed.

Eligibility
To qualify for funding, grantees must be classified as a title one school. The school must be able to commit to the following requirements:
- One school faculty member or teacher available to be the Program Site Supervisor.
- All students participating in the “i” The Guy Creative Writing Program must fill out a post survey and submit to iWRITE.
- This program is meant to be used at least twice a week for 3o minutes per day in each classroom participating. Teachers are welcome, and encouraged to utilize the program more often.
How Funding Decisions Are Made
Schools are chosen based on need assessment and available funding. For schools who apply to implement the program for consecutive years in a row, all required guidelines must have been followed to the best of the school’s ability to be able to qualify for multiple years of programming. Schools who do not complete the end of year report will not be eligible to apply the following year.
“i” The Guy Creative Writing Program Includes:
- “i” The Guy Writer’s Journal for each participating student (English or Bilingual)
- Educator Manual for each teacher participating
- (1) I Write Short Stories Anthology for each participating classroom
- Educator Training Session
- 1 Hour Creative Writing Workshop for each participating grade level (up to 2 workshops)
- Visit from the iWRITE Mascot “i” The Guy
- Access to the iWRITE Online Writing Center
- Virtual Illustration Workshop from “i” The Guy Illustrator
